Reflective Writing 9 : Is plagiarism often done by students?

Making academic papers or essays is not an easy thing to do. We have to go through many processes, starting from determining ideas, looking for references, diction or choice of words, and many more techniques that we must go through. Therefore, most students choose to copy other friends' answers rather than think about answers based on their thoughts. In other words, plagiarism is common among students. There are several reasons why plagiarism is commonly done by students in writing, especially in English, including students looking for a quick way to do it; students think that plagiarism is a natural thing to do, and they do not have skills in foreign languages , so they do plagiarism in essays or essays their writings. Plagiarism is taking papers, opinions, and others from other people and makes them look like their own compositions and ideas. From this understanding, we know that plagiarism is bad behavior that we can not to do. We can do several things if we want to take a sentence from the reading source we are looking for, one of which is quoting. Quoting is using the ideas or findings of others to support the thoughts or opinions of the author or speaker by including the name of the person in our writing. If we don't know how to quote, we can ask the teacher or find out on our own using the help of the internet so that we do not do plagiarism again in our writings. From this, it can be concluded that plagiarism is bad behavior that we can not to do. The help of the teacher to teach students about writing and the motivation of the students themselves to be able to write academic papers, especially in English, will be very helpful in improving student's writing skills and understanding because if no one teaches or motivates them from themselves, they will feel difficult everytime to write.
